iPhone 4S debuts in Singapore

iPhone 4S debuts in Singapore - Hours after the official midnight launch of the iPhone 4S by the three main telcos, a line was spotted outside the main SingTel outlet off Orchard Road hours before the doors opened for business.

Thousands had turned up earlier at the Suntec Convention Centre where SingTel held its launch of the iPhone 4S with the voice of Siri, the latest feature of the new iPhone which announced the release of the device at the stroke of midnight.

SingTel set up 55 booths manned by eager staff ready to serve customers who had signed up to be the first to get the iPhone 4S.

"We were here since 9.45am," said Amit Sawhney who was the first in line at Suntec Convention Centre.

Jessie Tan, who was the next in line at the SingTel event was an early-bird but for a different reason.

"Basically, the whole day, I couldn't calm myself down because I was so excited about this launch event. That's why I came down so early because at home I would still be so excited, so I'd rather come here and be excited," she said.

Exclusive customers could also be seen at Plaza Singapura, with StarHub launching the iPhone 4S at the same time.

There was also a beeline at M1's flagship store at Paragon.
